Money makes the World Go Around - B16 "NOT!"

It's beginning to look like the magical cure all 'Bailout' remedy has some side affects and once again the money people are looking for a bigger fix. The markets opened down around 500 points and today will be a bumpy ride for investors.

It seems everyday life is focusing on the issue of MONEY. Pope Benedict XVI throws some good'ol cold water over our heads and attempt to wake us back into reality.

Pope Benedict XVI opened the 12th ordinary assembly of the Synod of Bishops on Sunday, October 5, with a Mass at the Roman basilica of St. Paul-outside-the-Walls. In his homily the Pope said that the theme of this Synod, the Word of God, is timely today because the international financial crisis underlines the evanescence of worldly wealth and power. "Only the Word is solid," the Pope said; "It is the veritable reality on which we should base our lives."

"When man eliminates God from his horizon, when he declares God to be 'dead,' is he truly happier?" the Pontiff asked. On the contrary, he said, modern man, alienated from faith, "finds himself more alone and society more divided and confused."
