U.S. Under Obama Now Funding Embryonic Stem Cell Research

It's now official, tax payer money's are now being used to fund stem cell research.

Let be more frank, under the leadership of the Obama administration our tax money is now being used to kill Embryo's for research.

So this is the 'Change' and 'Hope' that Obama is referring to?

I am deeply ashamed of this administration. Nothing can compare with the taking of a babies life.

Embryo's are babies. Killing babies is wrong. You can't disguise it any other way. There has been no positive results from this type of research and may be a guise for other experimental research with human babies.

U.S. set to fund more stem cell study

The Obama administration has begun approving new lines of human embryonic stem cells that are eligible for federally funded experiments, opening the way for millions of taxpayer dollars to be used to conduct research that was put off-limits by President George W. Bush.

Launching a dramatic expansion of government support for one of the most promising but most contentious fields of biomedical research, the National Institutes of Health on Wednesday authorized the first 13 lines of cells under the administration's policy and was poised to approve 20 more Friday.

"This is the first down payment on what is going to be a much longer list that will empower the scientific community to explore the potential of embryonic stem cell research," said NIH Director Francis S. Collins. "Today's announcement is the first wave."

Dr. Oz, Michael J. Fox, Opra - Embryonic Stem Cell Research Dead

Dr. Oz delivered some shocking news to Opra's audience as well as Mr. Fox. Everyone knows about Michael's struggles with Parkinson's and his goals of promoting research to cure this debilitating disease. Those efforts are quite noble, however promotion of the use of Embryonic Stem Cell research is not.

The killing of babies for such research is morally wrong. Its also scientifically ineffective.

Recently the Pentagon announced the use of pigs in their study of IED affects. The same with the auto industry with their use of pigs in crash test.

The outrage shut down the auto industry's test and the outrage is still rising in the case of the Pentagon.

There is no such outrage about killing babies (Embryonic Stem Cell Research).

While there are no positive results from such studies there has been a call to advance the studies even further. President Obama is leading the charge.

Thank God Dr. Oz was given an opportunity on TV to set the record straight.

We need more voices in the public arena to tell the truth.

I hope to see, hear from Dr. Oz more.... if he is given the chance.

Douglas Kmiec Being called on the Carpet...

Robert P. George is calling Doug Kmiec to task in an email debate: Is President Obama leaving the door open to 'Cloning', with this decision to fund Embryonic Stem Cell research?

Mr. George does think this, as I do. Just the fact President Obama has allowed government funded stem cell research on human embryos doesn't give me just cause to believe that 'Cloning' stemming from this research is out of the question. And further that President Obama would give the green light to such research later if certain scientist could pull him into their line of thinking.

California Makes "Shameful" History

For the first time the U.S. Government has given the green light for a Northern California Bio-Company to administer Embryonic Stem Cells to 8 to 10 human patients.

Governor 'Terminator' Arnold has promised billion toward stem cell research, specifically embryonic, in the hope of putting California on the business map as the leading State in pursuit of this unproven research.

This is pretty sad folks. With so many other promising stem cell research studies (umbilical cord blood, adult stem cells), why pursue this one?

First Ever Human Embryonic Stem Cell Study OK'd

In a major medical breakthrough, the U.S. government has given the go-ahead for the first study ever using embryonic stem cells. CBS 2's Lisa Sigell has the pulse on the story.

Experts say the approval is a milestone and offers hope to people, who suffer from spinal cord injuries, as well as other illnesses that could be helped by stem cell therapy.

Stem-cell research is about to take a giant step forward with the world's first human study using embryonic stem cells.

"So far everything has been kept in the culture dish or in animal models, so now we're finally taking it to patients who actually have clinical problems," Dr. Neil Theise of Beth Israel Medical Center said.
