Obama: Civilian Security Force - Gestapo

This is really, really scary folks, a "what the Fudge!" moment.

I read this and asked myself "how can people be so blind"?

I'm researching this now but I'll just put it out there for others to look into it as well.

Something so ambitious needs a catchy name, dontcha think? How about say ... Gestapo ... or .... Stasi .... or Committee for State Security (roughly translated Комитет государственной безопасности?) or something catchy ike that?

All joking aside, did you get that folks? Obama wants a federally controlled domestic police force funded the same as the military. Oh my ... Is it any wonder that gun sales are up in Florida?

The Great Obama Info-commercial is on tonight. A full ½ hour of no commercials, questions, debate, rebuttal, “but what abouts” or “$250,000 or $150,000, which is it?, type of examinations.

McCain is Bush?

Why do the masses hate Bush so much? To hear Obama talk you think President Bush was Satan and McCain his brother.

Before you swallow that rhetoric from someone who has no experience, maybe we need to remind ourselves of the blessings preserved by the man that holds the office of the President today.

Mr. Obama, you should thank Mr. Bush for allowing you the time you needed to practice your social activism and polish your speech delivery. You worked hard to get where you are now, but you didn't do it without the help of President Bush these past eight years, whether you want to admit it or not.

There are many out there that need to be reminded as well...

right?

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenryjust ain't happy and want a change.



So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are sounhappy about?''



Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day,7 days a week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air conditioning inthe summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent ofthese unhappy folks have a job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?



Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the AtlanticOcean without having to present identification papers as we move througheach state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we wouldfind along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess havingthousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is justnot good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergencyworkers show up and provide services to help all and even send a helicopterto take you to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You maybe upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group oftrained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings. Orif, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar orprowler intrudes , an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vestwill come to defend you and your family against attack or loss. This all inthe backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping andpillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers owncell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67percent of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people inthe world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have , and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark daysafter 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe from terrorist attacks?

The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the President is on the news or talk show?Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you couldn't take alook around for yourself and see all the good things and be glad?

Think about it...... are you upset at the President because he actually caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media" told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.

Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go.

They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general'' discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig.

So why then the flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent ofAmericans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds itleads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a car crashwith blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit corporations.They offer what sells , and when criticized, try to defend their actions by"justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it this way......Insane!

Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off theTV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your birdcage. Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There isexponentially more good than bad.

We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative."

FOCA in First 100 Day's of Obama

I often talk about the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), and how revealing it is that Obama has promised to sign it into law as "the first thing" he'd do as President. Fr. Thomas Berg explains FOCA:

Sponsored by Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Ca) in the Senate (S. 1173), and Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) in the House (HR 1964), FOCA is a piece of legislation designed “to prohibit, consistent with Roe v. Wade, the interference by the government with a woman's right to choose to bear a child or terminate a pregnancy, and for other purposes.”In fact, FOCA, if it became law, would go well beyond Roe, sweeping away all limits on abortion -- state and federal -- including restrictions on government funding of abortion and conscience protections for healthcare providers. We have no reason to believe Obama would hesitate to sign FOCA into law as soon as it were to passed by the 111th Congress -- a probable outcome in early 2009 if Democrats gain enough new seats in November.

“If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court. I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order as long as I could pay for it I’d be o.k. But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society.

To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendancy to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.”

Catholics Waking-Up: McCain for President

A 20% switch toward McCain.

This good news, though the media, celebrities and the Democratic Party are already preparing for an election night extravaganza.

It seems that Catholics are taking a more 'informed conscience' look at the senator from Chicago.

Who is best to represent our Catholic values: Senator McCain leads Senator Obama among Catholic voters 48% to 39%.

Frankly, I don't know why there's even 39% for the senator from Chicago.

Stay awake Catholics... the thief in the night comes when least expectedl. (Thief as is stealing our catholic values away...)

A Huge Switch Among Catholics Toward McCain

The most accurate poll from the 2004 presidential election, the Investors Business Daily (IDB) poll, shows a phenomenal 20 point switch towards Senator McCain among Catholic voters . In the previous IDB tracking poll Senator Obama once held a commanding 11 point advantage among Catholic voters. In the latest tracking poll Senator McCain now has a nine (9) point lead among Catholic voters over Senator Obama. Senator McCain leads Senator Obama among Catholic voters 48% to 39%.

Speculation may be that the economic crisis has dissipated from the front pages as well as the Joe the Plumber drama that unveiled the redistributive policy of Senator Obama to America. But what I believe is the most influential aspect emanating from this interesting poll is that the recent spate of bishops coming out to in defense of the sanctity of life. Prelates such as Archbishop Chaput and Bishop Joseph Martino entering the national political arena and emphasizing that Catholics need to defend each person in all stages of life in addition to giving a correct interpretation of the USCCB’s Faithful Citizenship document. This may be the untold story of the election cycle thus far, Catholics understanding that the value of life trumpets all other issues.

The Pulpit Police: IRS and the Bishop

The pulpit police are coming to a parish nearest you... if not your own.

Apprarently, the rev. Barry Lynn (just what church he governes from I don't know) has found it offensive language in Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli homily.

The bishop wrote a column and centered it on abortion which made Mr. Lynn squirm in his seat.

... so what did he do?

"Hello, IRS? I'd like to report a Separation of Church and State violation."

It's more like a TRUTH violation. We Catholics are not allowed to address abortions issues during an election year.

Maybe if this were written and delivered by Rev. Wright at his Trinity church, it would have been okay.

Bishop's column on Obama abortion polices prompts call fro IRS action

A New Jersey bishop’s newspaper column which criticized Sen. Barack Obama’s support for pro-abortion legislation has prompted the activist group Americans United for Separation of Church and State to request an Internal Revenue Service investigation. The group alleges that Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli violated regulations forbidding tax-exempt organizations from tying political issues to the candidates who support them.

In Bishop Serratelli’s October 23rd column, titled “A Politician’s Promise: No Right to Life! No Freedom!”, he examined the status of abortion law in America today, noting that most Americans now favor “some kind of a ban on abortion” and that the number of abortions is in decline.

“There is truly a deep sensitivity to life in the soul of America,” he continued, claiming the proposed Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would “mortally wound this sensitivity.”

According to the bishop, the proposed federal FOCA bill would remove the rights of medical personnel and hospitals which have moral objections to performing abortions.

“Gone the freedom of conscience so essential for a civil society!” Bishop Serratelli predicted.

Abolishing 401(k) Tax Breaks

Yikes, my 401(k) is in bloody mess nowadays as is most everyone else. However, this article is not going to stop the bleeding at all. In fact it may kill most 401(k) account altogether.

House Democrats Contemplate Abolishing 401(k) Tax Breaks.

Powerful House Democrats are eyeing proposals to overhaul the nation’s $3 trillion 401(k) system, including the elimination of most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks that 401(k) investors receive.

House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-California, and Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Washington, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, are looking at redirecting those tax breaks to a new system of guaranteed retirement accounts to which all workers would be obliged to contribute.

A plan by Teresa Ghilarducci, professor of economic-policy analysis at the New School for Social Research in New York, contains elements that are being considered. She testified last week before Miller’s Education and Labor Committee on her proposal.

At that hearing, the director of the Congressional Budget Office, Peter Orszag, testified that some $2 trillion in retirement savings has been lost over the past 15 months.

Under Ghilarducci’s plan, all workers would receive a $600 annual inflation-adjusted subsidy from the U.S. government but would be required to invest 5 percent of their pay into a guaranteed retirement account administered by the Social Security Administration. The money in turn would be invested in special government bonds that would pay 3 percent a year, adjusted for inflation.

The current system of providing tax breaks on 401(k) contributions and earnings would be eliminated.

Obama 'Something New Here': (DSA) Democratic Socialist American Party

Bailouts, Handouts, come one come all. Wealth re-distribution and the middle class squeeze.

It will be the middle class who will have to pay for this all. The numbers just don't add up.

The 5% rich who Obama says will pay for all this and more of his spending, don't pay taxes now, and the 40% who don't pay taxes, because of their income, well, they don't pay taxes either.

The middle class will be the mule for this burden. Don't kid yourselves.

DENVER, Colorado, OCT. 17, 2008 (Zenit.org).- Here is the address Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver gave tonight at a dinner sponsored by ENDOW (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women). The talk is titled "Little Murders."

I want to do three things with my time tonight. First, Terry asked me to talk a bit about my book, "Render Unto Caesar," and I’m happy to do that. Second, I want to talk about some of the lessons we can already draw from this year’s election. And third, I want to talk about the mission of ENDOW.

Before I do any of that though, I need to say what a friend of mine calls my “Litany to the IRS.” Here it is. I’m not here tonight to tell you how to vote. I don’t want to do that, I won’t do that, and I don’t use code language -- so you don’t need to spend any time looking for secret political endorsements.

I plan to speak candidly, but I can only do that if you remember that I’m here as an author and private citizen. I’m not speaking for the Holy See, or the American bishops, or any other bishop, or even officially for the Archdiocese of Denver. So the things I say tonight are my personal views, nothing more. I think they’re pretty solidly grounded in Catholic teaching and the heart of the Church, but it’s your task as Catholics and citizens to listen, evaluate and then act as you judge best.

As adults, each of us needs to form a strong Catholic conscience. Then we need to follow that conscience when we vote. And then we need to take responsibility for the consequences of the vote we cast. Nobody can do that for us. That’s why really knowing and living our Catholic faith is so important. It’s the only reliable guide we have for acting in the public square as disciples of Jesus Christ.

So let’s talk for a few minutes about "Render Unto Caesar." When people ask me about the book, the questions usually fall into three categories. Why did I write it? What does the book say? And what does the book mean for each of us as individual Catholics? This last question will be a good doorway into talking about the 2008 election, but let’s start at the beginning first. Why did I write this book, now?

Catholics for Obama: They're coming out of the Woodwork

AP addresses the 'Termites' in the Catholic Church.

Confused as they are, AP sets the record straight on Catholic Obama supporters 'coming out of the woodwork'.

Why is it that all these catholics have waited until now to come out for Obama?

It's not like he's new to the scene. Why the 11th-hour endorsement that serves to comfort Obama-leaning catholics that "people in high places agree with me", but does not allow time for a sustained debate about Obama's merits, or the merits of catholics voting for him.

It's called a pile-on, and the gates are apparently wide open.Over the very same weekend that catholics in the pew heard the famous "render unto Caesar" gospel passage, numerous Catholics have decided who they are giving their denarius to this November.

Lisa Sowle Cahill of Boston College criticizes the "partisanship" of American bishops in the National Catholic Reporter (I know - what a surprising venue for such views!):


"Abortion is a moral tragedy for Catholics and many Americans. But when the Catholic church is perceived to be cheerleaders for one political party a rich faith tradition is badly damaged and loses its prophetic voice. Bishops should correct Catholic politicians who misrepresent Catholic teaching on life and justice issues in public interviews."

Why is it impossible for some to see that the bishops aren't cheerleaders for one political party, they are cheerleaders for the unborn, who happen to be defended better by one party?! Why, when the vast majority of culprits who "misrepresent Catholic teaching on life and justice issues" are democrats, is it the bishops and republicans who are criticized for being partisan on this issue?

The MSM made a big deal about Colin Powell's announced support for Barrack Obama.

It's no big deal to me... however it's clear this morning that there are rewards for Mr. Powell's support.

An endorsement today = a place in the cabinet tomorrow.

I must say for an economy that's on the brink and all those desparate, struggling people out there that are just making ends meat, Mr. Obama sure seems to be raking in the remainder of their life's savings.

150 million dollars, that's an unheard of amount in election time history.
(Mccain is limited to 87 million because of an early election promise)

I must say that's impressive by any means, however it reminds me of all those people who struggle everyday but still manage to buy up those Lotto tickets, hoping to strike it rich.

.... Hmmm, HOPE'n to strike it rich. There maybe some rational for their thought process.

After all 'Wealth-redistribution' sure does sound good to some ( ...it appears many). Like flies on an empty candy wrapper, I'm afraid that's all they'll find.

No candy.

With all the bailout money's already pledged and future bailouts in the making (auto industry) and on top of that Mr. Bernanke's signaling to the House and Senate majority to put together a pork-barrel package, I mean stimulus package, well I don't think Mr. Barrack's promises will add up to much.

I HOPE their dreams of CHANGE do come true.

But then again, I pray that their odds are better than this weeks Lotto Ticket purchase.

Obama raises stunning $150 million in September

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama raised more than $150 million in September, a stunning and unprecedented eruption of political giving that has given him a wide spending advantage over rival John McCain.

The campaign released the figure on Sunday, one day before it must file a detailed report of its monthly finances with the Federal Election Commission.

Obama's money is fueling a vast campaign operation in an expanding field of competitive states. It also has underwritten a wave of both national and targeted video advertising unseen before in a presidential contest.

Campaign manager David Plouffe, in an e-mail to supporters Sunday morning, said the campaign had added 632,000 new donors in September, for a total of 3.1 million contributors to the campaign. He said the average donation was $86.

The Democratic National Committee, moments later, announced that it raised $49.9 million and had $27.5 million in the bank at the start of October. The party has been raising money through joint fundraising events with Obama and can use the money to assist his candidacy.
