Health Care a Step Closer to Obama's pen

Well, we knew it was inevitable. The Senate (with Sen Olympia Snowe in tow) passed their version of the bill through the committee.

None of our Catholic concerns were addressed of course and the thought of the House bill and this bill being merged in my own mind leads me to believe the final bill will move further away from Catholic teaching.

American Spectator outlines what comes next.

Now Comes the Hard Part

In all the euphoria over the news that the Senate Finance Committee has approved its version of health care legislation, some context was missing. With a 60-vote majority in the Senate and a 79-vote advantage in the House of Representatives, it was all but assured that some sort of health care bill would clear the Democrat-dominated committees. It just wasn't supposed to take this long.
